*For your protection all the Doctors have received the Swine Flu vaccine*

This page is to inform our patients about Swine Flu and the vaccination arrangements. It will be updated as we are supplied with more information.

12th Jan 2010
We are now booking appointments for children between 6 months and 5 years of age who are not in the at risk groups described below. They must be born between 1st Jan 2005 and 7th June 2009 to be eligible.

15th Dec 2009
We have been advised by the Cornwall Public Health Department that following ongoing studies into the effects of Swine Flu vaccine, it has been decided to simplify the vaccine policy  for the under 5 year olds.
Previously all under 5 year olds were scheduled to have two doses of vaccine. This has now changed and now only children who are immunosuppressed or who have an immune deficiency should have two doses.  Therefore some children may have pre-arranged appointments cancelled.

10th December 2009
Children aged between 6 months and 5 years (born after 1st Jan 2005) who have no high risk conditions (see below); We will be offering the swine flu vaccine to these children when we have completed vaccinating the high risk group. We will announce on this website when we are able to start making appointments. Until then please do not call the surgery as our receptionists will not be able to provide appointments before that time.

2nd Dec 2009
We now have further stocks of vaccine and so please phone for an appointment if you have had an invite or know you are in one of the at risk groups.

6th Nov 2009
All the vaccine that we have received has been committed. If you receive a letter inviting you but have not yet booked then please do not phone until late November, or monitor this page where updates will be posted.

30th Oct 2009
We have received our first batch of swine flu vaccine and plan to start our Swine Flu vaccination clinics on 7th November 2009.
We will be inviting patients in priority groups according to instructions from the Department of Health. If you are in one of the at risk groups described below you are welcome to contact the surgery to book your appointment but please call after 10am when the phones are less busy. We regret that for now we cannot take bookings for patients not in the lists below.

The clinical risk groups (From the Chief Medical Officer) in order of priority are:

a. Individuals aged six months and up to 65 years in the current seasonal flu vaccine clinical 'at risk groups' (see below)
b. Pregnant women
c. Household contacts of immunocompromised individuals
d. People aged 65 and over in the current seasonal flu vaccine clinical at risk groups

At risk groups are patients with;

Coronary Heart Disease
