Dr Philip D Slater MB BS (St Mary's) 1970,
MRCS LRCP

I was born in a Japanese prisoner of war
camp in Shanghai, China. I subsequently grew up in St Ives, was educated in
Penzance and trained at St Mary's Hospital, London. After a year working
medically with the VSO in Papua New Guinea I qualified in 1970. I came to
Falmouth in 1973 to join Drs Wright and Deighton. I have been involved with the Falmouth
Lifeboat for many years both as crew member and Medical Advisor. I am interested
in all aspects of family medicine and enjoy occupational medicine - particularly
when related to the maritime professions. I am married to Gillian with 2 grown
up children living in Falmouth and enjoy racing the working boat
"Rebecca" (which he does rather well! - Ed)
