"I have lived in Cornwall since 1988. I was born in Essex
and after initially training as a Nursery Nurse, I then moved to North London to
do my SRN training at Chase Farm Hospital. On qualifying, I worked as a Staff
Nurse in Casualty for 6 months, before moving down to Musgrove Park Hospital in
Taunton to commence my Midwifery training. I then worked for 2 1/2 years on the
GP Maternity unit. In 1986 I then had a ‘year off’ and went to Australia
with the British Americas Cup Challenge. My husband worked as an Engineer with
the shore crew and I worked as Crew Nurse. At the end of a brilliant year our
eldest daughter Sam was born, so we came home with a little ‘Aussie’ of our
own.
Since moving to Cornwall and having twins (Katie & Lizzie), I returned to
nursing again in 1991, when I joined the team at Falmouth Health Centre.
I now run the Diabetic Clinics, and hold surgeries for general medical problems."
