Use the NHS App to:

  • check your symptoms
  • find out what to do when you need help urgently
  • view and cancel appointments at your GP surgery
  • order repeat prescriptions & see when they are available at the pharmacy
  • view your GP medical record securely
  • register to be an organ donor
  • choose how the NHS uses your data
  • take part in research

Download the NHS App on your smartphone or tablet via the Google play or App store. You can also access the same services in a web browser by logging in through the NHS website.

Get started

You can register with the NHS app online. All you need is an email address.

If you are having any issues with the app, you can find help online or you can speak with Alex or Laura at reception.

Non-urgent advice: Get help from the pharmacy

There are many instances in which you can receive treatment at the Pharmacy without a GP appointment or prescription.

The Pharmacy First initiative covers:

  • Uncomplicated Urinary Tract Infections - Women aged 16-64
  • Shingles - 18 years and over
  • Impetigo - 1 year and over
  • Infected Insect Bites - 1 year and over
  • Acute Sore Throat -5 years and over
  • Acute Sinusitis - 12 years and over
  • Acute Ear Infection - Children aged 1-17

Pharmacies have private consultation rooms that can be used for consultations with patients, and pharmacists can see patients for clinical services without always needing an appointment.

Every pharmacist trains for 5 years in the use of medicines and managing minor illnesses, so they are well equipped to provide health and wellbeing advice to help people stay well. They are also experienced in spotting warning signs, otherwise known as red flag symptoms, which may warrant a referral to another healthcare provider.

Join our PPG & Integrated Care Forum

Since 2019 the four GP practices in Falmouth and Penryn have been meeting regularly and collaborating on projects.  We work together as a Primary Care Network to build on existing services and to improve provision of healthcare for our community.

The four practices run a quarterly ‘Falmouth and Penryn Integrated Care Forum (FPICF)’ in which we can discuss some of the wider issues affecting health in Falmouth, Penryn and the surrounding areas.  There will be an opportunity to discuss some of the projects that the PCN is working on which currently include a new mental health hub and increasing support of our care homes.  We invite other local stakeholders to attend the meeting such as councillors, representatives from the voluntary sector and Cornwall Partnership Foundation Trust.  Incorporated into these new forums are break-out sessions with individual practice representatives so that you can continue to have an opportunity to share your experiences and ideas for improvement of your own surgeries.

If you would like to be a member of the Falmouth and Penryn Integrated Care Forum please email poppy.ingall2@nhs.net our PCN Care Coordinator with your name, contact details, occupation, age and surgery name.  If you know of any other people in the community that may be interested in joining, please feel free to share this letter with them and ask them to contact Poppy.  In order to send out the online meeting invitations we may need to share your email address with other attendees.  Please confirm if you are happy for us to do this.
